9, 2007 - Good test in Holland road race
Hilary
defends her title at 2007 Peter Rusman Loop
For
the second year in a row, Hilary lined up in the Peter Rusman
road race, which is just under 6km, to go for the women's
title and the overall win. The race provided a good early-season
test and a chance to race back in Holland.
"Since
we were travelling to Holland for Easter weekend I decided
it was a great opportunity to race the Rusman Loop and compare
my time to last year," said Hilary
Hilary
ran over 30 seconds faster than last year and again took the
women's title, but came up short of the overall win, finishing
in 3rd place. Nevertheless, Hilary was pleased with the effort
and said it confirmed that she was on the right track for
the outdoor season.
"I
took a bit of time off after the indoor season and have now
been doing base or endurance work for a month, I figured this
was a good time for a hard effort," she said after the
race. " I won't race for a while now. I'm heading to
St. Moritz in a couple weeks to train at altitude for three
weeks.
